A hybrid of Fortune and Tomentose
Shang Tong is a hybrid between P. tomentosa and P. Fortunei.
Description
- Height: 16-22 m
- Trunk: straight, long, up to 35-50 cm diameter.
- Crown: narrow, recommended tree planting pattern: 4x4 m
- Leaves: green, single-lobed, large, up to 70 cm.
- Flowers: 5-6 cm,
- Fruit: ovoid capsule.
Features
The main advantages are cold tolerance and high growth rate, straight trunk and narrow crown, drought and cold tolerance, disease and pest resistance, adaptability and recovery. Due to its unique qualities, Paulownia Shang Tong is a suitable hybrid for investment in plantations and biomass production. Paulownia Shang Tong is used for energy plantations, wood production or beekeeping. The leaf mass can be used as fodder for livestock. The wood is 40% lighter than pine.
Planting from our nursery
Are obtained by microclonal propagation, are healthy and free of viruses and diseases, suitable and ready to be planted on a permanent growth site. Felt paulownia is considered the most frost resistant, adults can withstand short term frosts of up to 28 degrees.
