Paulownia PaoTong is a very fast and straight growing Paulownia hybrid between the species P. tomentosa and P. fortunei.
It combines the cold hardiness of P. tomentosa with the growth rate, straight stem growth, narrow crown formation and wood quality of P. fortunei.
It can be grown both in colder regions of Germany to warmer regions of southern Europe.
Due to the narrow crown, more trees per ha can be planted.
P. Pao Tong is currently the most suitable Paulownia species for the establishment of value wood plantations as well as energy wood plantations.

The paulownia Pao Tong variety has many uses:

• Quick creation of green spaces on your property;

• Use for agroforestry (growing Paulownia trees alongside other crops);

• Oxygen production and CO2 compensation of about 450 Euro/year per hectare;

Price of Paulownia wood

Given the constant demand for lumber on the French market, you can be sure that you will always sell your boards at a good price. Below we show you the prices of Paulownia boards on the international market.

Comment planter les plantes Paulownia Pao Tong?

• Prepare the soil before planting. Use a plow or tiller. 

• Make proper field markings. Use a 5/5 or 6/6 meter planting pattern. 

• Dig a small hole for planting.

• Water your plants well before planting them. This will allow a good rooting of the young tree.
  

• Fill the planting hole with the necessary fertilizer.
  

• Put your Paulownia plants in the planting hole at a depth of 25, 30 centimeters. And cover the seedlings with soil so that the root system is hidden underground.
  

• Your paulownia will start to grow in May/June and will reach about 2 to 3 m in the first year.

• The following year, after a November-December planting, they will need to be pruned to allow the root system to develop properly. After that, they will recover naturally and grow very quickly.
