Characteristics of the variety Paulownia Energy:

Paulownia Energy is a hybrid form of paulownia obtained by crossing 3 species of paulownia: Paulownia elongata, Paulownia tomentosa and Paulownia fortunei.

The tree has a height of 15-25 m at the age of 10 years, with a trunk diameter of up to 0.6 (1) m. The growth rate is very fast. The crown is oval and circular. The leaves are green, very large, up to 70 cm in diameter, broadly oval with an acuminate apex, pubescent on top and felted on the underside. The inflorescence is in racemes up to 30 cm long, opening in spring before the leaves open. Flowers up to 6 cm in diameter, pale purple, very fragrant. The flowers begin to bloom in the 3rd-4th year after planting.

Paulownia Energy is less demanding in terms of soil composition and moisture than Paulownia Tomentose. This hybrid is well suited for planting in various regions with arid climate. Wind resistance is low, trunk and branches are very fragile. Frost resistance is average, tolerating a temporary drop in temperature from -25 to -28°C. The tops of paulownia freeze in winter. Resistance to fungal diseases is high. Resistance to pests is low. Lovelovna leaves are a tasty treat for caterpillars and other leaf eaters.

Used as a technical tree in industrial plantations. Appreciated for its light, soft and beautifully textured wood, it is used for furniture making, construction and in the wood industry to produce paper and veneer. Thanks to its very large leaves, it can be used as an ornamental tree.
