Paulownia Energy® is a green biomass energy company developing large-scale paulownia plantations that supply feedstock for green hydrogen, AI data centers, and industrial decarbonisation — with 7 years of proven cultivation experience across 32 countries.
Our story
Paulownia Energy was founded in Ukraine in 2017 — not as a nursery business, but as a long-term bet on paulownia as an industrial energy crop. From the beginning, our focus was on scale: large plantations, certified varieties, and repeatable methodology that works across different climates and soil types.
In 2022, we relocated to France, establishing Paulownia Energy France in Aulnay, Charente-Maritime. We brought with us 5 years of field experience, our flagship Paulownia Energy® variety — selected and developed in Ukraine — and a clear conviction that the global energy transition would eventually need exactly what we had been building.
What we do
We design, establish, and manage industrial paulownia biomass plantations — from soil analysis and variety selection through to harvest planning and energy offtake structuring. We do not just sell seedlings. We build operational supply chains.
Our work covers three areas: certified planting material production at our France nursery, agronomic consulting for plantation development worldwide, and biomass energy project structuring for investors and energy companies.
Every project is backed by a guaranteed buyback structure — we commit to purchasing the biomass produced, removing offtake risk from the equation for landowners and investors.
